By downloading or using FAX you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
What the app does
- Sends documents you scan, pick from Photos or import as PDF to a fax number you enter.
- Shows the delivery status of each fax.
- With FAX Pro, gives you a US fax number and shows faxes sent to it in the app.
- Summarizes, corrects, simplifies or clarifies a document, and answers questions about it, with Apple's models where it can and with OpenAI otherwise.
Your licence
You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use FAX on devices you own or control, for as long as these terms are observed. You may not resell the app, redistribute it, or attempt to extract its source code.
What is free
Each device can send one fax of one page for free, and run the AI tools 3 times a day (1 of them can use OpenAI). Scanning, cover pages, PDF import and delivery status are free. Faxes you received stay readable if Pro ends.

Prices are the United States prices and are shown here for reference. The App Store shows the price in your own currency, which may differ.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours of the period ending.
- You manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings, not in the app. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Where a free trial is offered, any unused part of it is forfeited if you buy a subscription during the trial.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's own policy. We cannot issue a refund for an App Store purchase. Request one through Apple.
Your content
Your documents are yours. We process them only to deliver or receive your faxes.
Free trial
The annual plan starts with a 3-day free trial, once per Apple Account. During the trial you can send up to 10 fax pages from a shared line, and you get your own fax number only after the first charge. Cancel before the trial ends and you are not charged. After the first charge the full Pro allowance below applies.
Fair use
Pro includes up to 200 fax pages a month, sent and received together. Pages of failed faxes do not count. When you reach 200, sending pauses and incoming faxes are refused until the 1st of the next month. Sending also pauses for the month if your faxes reach our carrier cost limit, which ordinary use does not come near.
Faxes can be sent to the United States and Canada. Premium-rate numbers are not supported.
AI tools that run on Apple's models are not limited by us for Pro; Apple sets its own daily limit for Private Cloud Compute. Runs that use OpenAI are limited to 15 a day with Pro and 1 a day without. AI answers can be wrong: check anything important against the document, and ask a professional for legal or medical decisions.
Acceptable use
Do not use the app to send unsolicited advertising faxes (banned in the US by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act), to harass anyone, or to send anything unlawful. We may block sending for accounts that do.
No warranty, and the limits of our liability
FAX is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that a fax will be delivered or delivered on time. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses caused by a fax that failed or arrived late.
Changes to the app and to these terms
Features may be added, changed or removed as the app develops. If these terms change, the effective date above changes and the updated version is published here. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.
