Terms of Use

By downloading or using Pocketbill you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

What the app does

• Lets you add up to five bills on the free plan, or an unlimited number with Premium, each with its own schedule, amount, colour and reminder.
• Handles bills whose amount changes every month: you can change one month without touching the rest of the series.
• Reminds you before each bill is due, and tells you what the month or your pay period comes to in total.
• Records what you paid and when, including partial payments, and keeps the history per bill.
• Shows what is due on home screen widgets you can mark paid without opening the app.
• Backs up to your own iCloud Drive once a day, and exports everything as JSON or CSV whenever you ask.

Your licence

You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use Pocketbill on devices you own or control, for as long as these terms are observed. You may not resell the app, redistribute it, or attempt to extract its source code.

What is free

Up to five active bills, with every reminder, the calendar, marking bills paid, partial payments, the monthly total, your payment history, all four home screen widgets, the daily iCloud Drive backup and exporting all your data, are free. Premium adds exactly six things: unlimited bills, unlimited questions to Ask Pocketbill, totals per pay period, a running balance, a breakdown by category, and colour themes. If a subscription ends, bills you already saved stay visible, keep their reminders and can always be exported; only adding a bill beyond five asks for Premium.

Subscriptions and purchases

Prices are the United States prices and are shown here for reference. The App Store shows the price in your own currency, which may differ.

• Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours of the period ending.
• You manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings, not in the app. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Where a free trial is offered, any unused part of it is forfeited if you buy a subscription during the trial.
• The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment. It does not renew and is not a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's own policy. We cannot issue a refund for an App Store purchase — request one through Apple.

Your content

The bills and payments you enter are yours. They stay on your device; we neither hold them nor claim any right to them.

Acceptable use

Do not use Pocketbill to break the law or to store information you have no right to hold.

No warranty, and the limits of our liability

Pocketbill is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every reminder will be delivered: iOS decides when a notification is shown, and notifications you turn off in Settings are not shown at all.

You remain responsible for paying your bills on time. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for late fees, missed payments, overdraft charges or any other loss arising from a reminder that did not arrive, an amount or date entered incorrectly, or a total the app calculated from what you entered. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to the app and to these terms

Features may be added, changed or removed as the app develops. If these terms change, the effective date above changes and the updated version is published here. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.
