Effective August 11, 2026 · Yolk: Alarm Clock & Habits
Yolk is an alarm clock that makes you finish a small mission before it goes quiet. Your alarms, habits and progress live on your iPhone. There is no account and no server of ours. On the free plan the app shows ads, which is the one place another company is involved — that is spelled out below rather than buried.
Stored on your device only, in the app's own storage. They are not uploaded, not backed up to us, and not readable by us. Deleting the app deletes them.

Only for the Item Snap mission. You photograph a spot once to register it, and the app compares later photos against it on the device using Vision. The reference photo stays in the app's own storage. No photo is uploaded, and nothing from the camera is sent anywhere.
Only for the step, squat and shake missions. The pedometer and accelerometer are read while a mission is open, to count what you did. The readings are used to advance a counter and are not stored or transmitted.
A sound you choose from your own files is converted and kept in the app's storage on the device so an alarm can play it. It is not uploaded.
The free plan shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob is a separate company and receives technical information from your device in order to serve and measure those ads. If you allow tracking when iOS asks, it may also use the advertising identifier to make ads less repetitive; if you decline, ads still appear but are not personalised. Google's own privacy policy governs what it does with that information. Subscribing removes ads entirely.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple; we never see your payment details. RevenueCat processes the receipt on our behalf so the app knows whether your subscription is active, and receives a random identifier generated for your install rather than your name or email.
Everything you create in Yolk is written to the app's own storage on your device. If you have iCloud Backup switched on, Apple may include that storage in your device backup — that is a setting on your iPhone, between you and Apple, and we have no access to it. Deleting the app deletes the plans it holds.
Yolk is a measuring tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age, because the app does not collect personal information at all.
Rights such as access, correction, export and erasure apply to personal data a company holds about you. We hold none: there is no account, no profile, and no server-side record connected to you. Your data is on your device, where you can read, export and delete it yourself at any time. If you would like this confirmed in writing, email us.
Apple processes every purchase and is the merchant of record. Apple's handling of your payment information is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.
RevenueCat tells the app whether a purchase is currently active. It receives a randomly generated identifier and Apple's purchase receipt. It receives nothing you measure and nothing that identifies you personally.
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of this page changes with it, and the updated version is published here.
