Tapely

Terms of Use

Effective August 8, 2026 · Tapely: Tape Measure & Ruler

By downloading or using Tapely you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

What the app does

Measurements are estimates, not certified survey data. Measurements come from the camera and the motion sensors, and land within roughly 2–3%. They are close, not exact. Poor light, glass, mirrors, blank walls and fast movement all make them worse. Calibrating against something of known size removes most of the consistent error, but before you cut material or commit to a price, check the number with a real tape.

Your licence

You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use Tapely on devices you own or control, for as long as these terms are observed. You may not resell the app, redistribute it, or attempt to extract its source code.

What is free

Measuring — distance, height, area and angle — is free, and so are chaining, snapping, every unit including fractional inches, the ruler, the level, the angle finder, the converter, calibration, and saving as many measurements as you like. There is no advertising of any kind. The one-time purchase adds sharing, folders you create yourself, and three convenience tools. It does not unlock measuring, because measuring was never locked.

Acceptable use

Do not use Tapely to break the law, to record or measure people without their knowledge, or in a place where you are not permitted to use a camera. You are responsible for having the right to be where you are measuring.

No warranty, and the limits of our liability

Tapely is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate to any particular tolerance.

You are responsible for verifying any measurement before you rely on it. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for material bought in the wrong quantity, material cut to the wrong size, work quoted at the wrong price, or any other loss arising from a measurement produced by the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to the app and to these terms

Features may be added, changed or removed as the app develops. If these terms change, the effective date above changes and the updated version is published here. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.
