Privacy Policy

Tapely measures through the camera and keeps what you measured on your iPhone. There is no account and no server of ours, and nothing you measure ever leaves the device. The free version shows ads, which is the one place another company is involved, and that is spelled out below.

What the app does with the camera

The camera feed is processed live on your device so ARKit can track the space in 3D. No photo or video is recorded, saved, or transmitted. Nothing from the camera is sent anywhere.

Your measurements

Stored on your device only, in the app's own storage. They are not uploaded, not backed up to us, and not readable by us. Deleting the app deletes them.

Motion sensors

The level and the angle finder read the accelerometer to work out which way is down. Those readings are used on screen as you look at them and are never stored or sent.

Purchase status

Whether you have bought the one-time unlock is handled by RevenueCat on top of Apple's own purchase system, so the app knows what you are entitled to. It carries no name, no email address, and nothing you have measured.

Advertising, on the free version only

The free version shows a full-screen ad after some saves, and lets you watch an ad to use sharing or a Pro tool once. Ads are served by Google AdMob, a separate company, which receives technical information from your device, such as the IP address and basic device details any ad request carries, in order to serve and measure those ads. If you allow tracking when iOS asks, it may also use the advertising identifier to make ads more relevant; if you decline, ads still appear but are not personalised. In the EEA and the UK, Google's consent form lets you decide how that data is used, and you can reopen it from Settings → Ad privacy. Nothing you measure and nothing from the camera is ever part of an ad request. Tapely Pro removes ads entirely, and no ad requests are made for people who own it.

What is not collected

Where your data lives

Everything you create in Tapely is written to the app's own storage on your device. If you have iCloud Backup switched on, Apple may include that storage in your device backup. That is a setting on your iPhone, between you and Apple, and we have no access to it. Deleting the app deletes the measurements it holds.

Children

Tapely is a measuring tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age, because the app does not collect personal information at all.

Your rights

Rights such as access, correction, export and erasure apply to personal data a company holds about you. We hold none: there is no account, no profile, and no server-side record connected to you. Your data is on your device, where you can read, export and delete it yourself at any time. If you would like this confirmed in writing, email us.

Third parties

Apple processes every purchase and is the merchant of record. Apple's handling of your payment information is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.

RevenueCat tells the app whether a purchase is currently active. It receives a randomly generated identifier and Apple's purchase receipt. It receives nothing you measure and nothing that identifies you personally.

Google AdMob serves the ads shown on the free version. It receives the technical information described above under advertising, and its use of that information is governed by Google's privacy policy. It receives nothing you measure. People who own Tapely Pro see no ads and no ad requests are made for them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of this page changes with it, and the updated version is published here.
